For the Love of Painting

Posted on Jun 22, 2005

I would truly love to be a painter.  It’s one of those talents I wish I was born with, the ability to draw.  Well, most of all I wish I could sing and dance.  My dream job would be playing Maggie in A Chorus Line.  Reality tells me that I should stick to singing in the shower and dancing alone in a room big enough that I won’t hurt myself…but I digress.  The above picture is of my living room.  I painted these paintings about a year ago.  Abstract is right up my alley.  I can’t draw anything beyond the stick figure and I love big splashes of color.  Joan Miro is my favorite painter.

I’ve been craving the need to paint for a couple of months now.  It’s just a something I need to do.  I started a couple of paintings about 2 weeks ago.  I will post them when they are done.  I’m in that weird stage of knowing that I need to paint more, but don’t know what to do.  So I’ve decided to just let them sit for the moment.  I’m hoping the answer will become obvious with time.
