I’m so excited about this!  I actually have photography hanging in a public place.   This is a dream come true!  My kiln partner graciously let me hang photos in The Funky Door Cafe.  It’s good to have friends in high places!

There are 12 8×10′s total.  I mounted the photos to foam board.  I also
painted (3 coats!) larger pieces of foam board that I attached the
mounted photos to.

I think they turned out really well.  I’m so happy with them!

If you get a chance, come in for some Stumptown coffee and stay for the art.   The Funky Door is on the corner of 28th and Holgate in Portland.

I helped Diana hang them yesterday after The Funky Door closed for the day.  I imagined ladders and all kinds of craziness to hang the pictures from the established hooks near the ceiling.  Nope!  After hanging lots of art work, Diana has learned all the tricks.  The photos went up super fast!

  2. I’m very proud of you, and very jealous of your creativity and your artist’s eye for what looks great in all your art work (photography, jewelry, knitting, painting, etc). Please put the displayed photos in an online album so those of us who don’t get up to Portland frequently can enjoy them, too.

  3. Rock on! This is awesome, Jolie. I’ll have to swing by for the chance to hang a JG original on my own wall!
