Felt Flower Broaches for Moms

Posted on Jul 30, 2009

I offered to make broaches for the moms of my sis’ wedding.  I thought it would be a nice way to honor them and to give them a memento of the wedding.  I decided to make all three exactly the same.  It was simpler that way and I liked the consistency among the moms.  Each pin was just under 2 inches across.  I had never made a pin before, but it was pretty easy to figure out.  I embroidered the pins more than the flowers in the bouquet.  I figured that these were stand out pieces that should be as showy as I could make them.  The moms didn’t know they were getting them.  I’m so happy I could help with this nice surprise.

I also put together these flowers for the flower girl’s basket.  I didn’t embroider them because frankly I was running out of time.  My extremely talented niece made the actual basket.  The flower girl’s basket was filled with lavender.

  1. I think it’s awesome that she made that basket! How fortuitous! Love that you decorated the basket. This plus the bouquets and broaches bring it altogether into a thematic scheme that I totally love.

  2. Where’s the bouquet? That was the most beautiful and special part of the whole wedding!
