Bike Craft

Who knew Portland has an annual bike craft fair?  I didn't. I was intriqued when I saw the notice for Bike Craft V on the DIY Alert calendar. I must say that I'm extremely impressed with this fair.  There were a large number of vendors with a great variety off products.  I'm looking forward to this show next year.

I had already procured this Queen Bee wallet for a friend at the Bargain Hunting 101 and thought I could do a whole bike themed present for my friend.

This was my very favorite purchase of the craft season.   Labelle Maverique makes these exquisite bike tire bracelets.  They feel great on and they are so unique.  I haven't seen anything like them before.  I've worn mine to work for a days and I've gotten tons of compliments.  People mistake it for a tattoo. Rad!

I bought two as presents and kept the middle one for myself.  At first I was having a bit of trouble taking off the bracelet because rubber stretches.  Now I brace one side on a hard surface (a countertop) so the rubber can't stretch and taking it off is a breeze.

I think these Helmuffs are brilliant.  They strap onto your bike helmet to keep your ears warm.  Why didn't I think of that?

These last two are mystery artists.  I tried to always remember the names of vendors, but it's not a full proof system.  Overall, this was a fun and surprising affordable present.  I do love a good theme.
