Vera to Vera

Posted on Feb 1, 2010

I've been running at least once a week for the past 6 months or so.  I'm gearing up for my first 5k race in March.  I'm so blessed to live close to Portland's waterfront.  We have a pedestrian/bike path on a beautiful urban route around the Willamette River that is very heavily used and makes the perfect sized run for me.  We begin our run at the statue of Vera Katz, Portland's beloved mayor, on the Eastbank Esplanade.  The route traverses across the longest floating walkway in the nation, crosses the Steel Bridge, continues down Tom McCall Waterfront Park, crosses the Hawthorne Bridge and ends back at Vera.

I bought these pins of the Hawthorne and Steel Bridges at Music Millenium.  These little pins symbolize my Vera to Vera runs.  I think they are just adorable and they keep me motivated.

  1. OK, I am so glad we’re hanging out tonight and catching up, because I’ve been secretly planning to do the Shamrock Run, too! Your running totally inspires me.
