Short Fuses!

Posted on Feb 4, 2010

We fired the kiln!  Man, it's been way to long since I've said those words.  Diana and I are getting back into the swing of things for Short Fuses.  Our first step was to actually make some glass!  It had been almost a year since I'd cut glass.  Wild! I was nervous making my first cut in so long.  Luckily, my skills never left me.  I had forgotten how much I enjoy working with glass.  It's a medium that really suits me.

Besides the act of crafting, it was also so wonderful to spend time creating with Diana.  It had been way to long.  Hopefully this  year we will have much more time to spend working on glass together.

These pieces were a little too close together and are now fused together.  I think it's pretty rad.  I like how the three butterflies together seem very Andy Warhol-esque.  I'm going to make a wall hanging out of this piece.

  1. Your butterflies look beautiful. It was so fun — we must do more of it this year!
