A little over a month ago, I started a new job. I'm still at my medical college, but in a new capacity. There are a few nice perks to this new position. First I'm working PART TIME! It's a dream come true. I have said for years that I wanted to retire at age 35. Well, we all knew that was a long shot, but going down to 30 hours a week feels a smidge like being retired. I'm only working 4 days a week which will hopefully allow me to devote more time to being crafty. So far, the craftiness hasn't kicked in yet. Life has just been hectic and I've had a few things that have taken priority over craftiness, but soon (hopefully super soon), I will be able to devote more time to all hobbies that I have.
Another nice perk is that I now have a window in my office. I had spent the past 3.5 years in an office with no window. As you can see in the picture above, my window is huge! I've been watching birds build a nest and squirrels run across power lines. I also get to see a few skyscrappers, a tiny bit of the Willamette river and if I squint just right Mt. St. Helens.
There are many more reasons why this job is an improvement over my last. I'm over joyed by this change and my work life has become much less stressful.
