Hump Day Art Festival

Hump Day Art Festival

Posted on Oct 14, 2012

I’ve been really excited to check out Hump Day Art Festival. This brand new art fair is held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 6-10pm at SE 9th and Morrison. 9th street is closed for about 4 blocks, but there is lots of potential for this event to grow in the inner SE Warehouse district. We arrived about 6:30pm and it was starting to get dark. There was still plenty of time to see everything. About half of the booths had...

Saul Williams at Doug Fir

Posted on Sep 21, 2012

I have been a fan of Saul Williams for over 15 years now. I was thrilled when my brother-in-law suggested we see Saul at Doug Fir. Greg and I have seen Saul twice before backed with his band. here is my post about seeing him in 2008 at the Aladdin. This time, he stood alone on stage and did spoken poetry. It was an intimate and incredible night. I’m so glad I was able to attend this concert.   We got to Doug Fir just after...

I was lucky enough to be an ambassador at the inaugural World Domination Summit. I got so much good out of that weekend and it even helped me make a shift to my blog that relieved much anxiety for me.  I was on a WDS high for many weeks after the event.  I was so impressed with how nice everyone was.  The positive energy was tangible and gave me lots to think about.  I was thrilled to volunteer again this year.     Jen and I...

There many breath taking moments and overall it was just spectacular.     These ants girls were my...

West Side Story

Last Saturday, I saw the stage production of West Side Story.  This was a pretty big deal for me.  West Side Story is tied with A Chorus Line (I saw this last year!) as my favorite musical.  I discovered the movie when I was 15 years old by renting it from the Multnomah County Library.  I remember forcing my friends to watch this musical which at 15 in 1990 wasn’t the most hip thing and my friends weren’t thrilled. I have...

3 Circuses in 2 Weeks

3 Circuses in 2 Weeks

Posted on Dec 30, 2011

During the first part of December, I attended 3 circuses in 2 weeks.  I hadn’t planned for this to happen, but it was so wonderful to experience three completely different circuses in such a sort period of time.     The first circus was Michael Jackson’s The Immortal World Tour put on by Cirque du Soleil.  My husband bought tickets 18 months ago and I had forgotten all about this until just a few days before....
