This weekend my father-in-law, sister-in-law, and my three nieces and nephews came to visit.  They don’t live that far away, but we don’t get to see them as much as we would like.  They all spent the night on Saturday.  My nephew, Tyler, who is 7 made this drawing for me.  Ethan is the baby and he’s only 10 months old.  Here is the whole picture.  He was running out of room, so people...

Breaking in My Kiln

Breaking in My Kiln

I finally have made some pendants to be fired in my kiln.  This is the first crafty thing I have done in a long time.  My friend and I are going to start having regular play dates to make items to be fired.  Hopefully if we are on a schedule, we will actually start to be productive. This picture is the back of the wallet and is step one and two completed.  The duct tape takes a...

The Knitting Prince

Mitsuharu Hirose is my hero!  He is huge in Japan and teaches very large seminars on how to knit.  He has also written a lot of books on knitting.  Who decided that women should be the only knitters?  That sterotype needs to be destroyed and Hirose is well on his way to doing that.  I wonder, who is the knitting...

Art Gone Wrong

My cousin and I have a pact about the things we make each other.  If for any reason one does not want to keep the art that the other made; the first person has a duty to return the art to the creator.  This rule has only been acted upon once.  I made the picture above many years ago.  It’s a self portrait of me and my cat.  I used a lock of my hair and some of my cat’s hair that he shed to add to...
