Crewel Work

I  got The New Crewel for Christmas.  I’ve seen Katherine Shaughnessy’s crewel kits on line and I’ve been tempted to get one.  She has such great designs.  I’ve really wanted to try crewel for a long time.  The book has great instruction and pictures.  The patterns are modern and I can see making each one.  I would totally recommend it to others. I went to Goodwill and picked...

The computer dude at my work asked me to make a pendant for his girlfriend as a Christmas present.  He wanted one that had earth colors and the letter A for her name.  I made two pendents since you never really know how things will come out of the kiln.  I ended up giving him both pendants, but the top one was definitely the best. We celebrated my Father-in-law’s Birthday this Saturday.  My Father-in-law is a duck hunter and was doing some hunting this past weekend.  We meet up with him for dinner and presents.  He got Duck Call Christmas Lights and a set of stickers that were all different types of meat.  I, also, made this Balaclava for him to use in the field.  Lately it’s been very beautiful and dry here, but super...

Bead Museum

I’ve been meaning to post my trip to the Bead Museum.  I figured now was a good time since I’m so caught up in trying to get Christmas presents completed.  Soon, I will be able to post pictures of my gifts.  While visiting my mom in Newport, Oregon, she took us to a really good bead store that her friend runs.  Behind the store is a tiny little bead museum. It was filled to the brim with all different...
