Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day

Posted on May 12, 2006

I celebrated Mother’s Day with my mom and sister last weekend.  Since my Birthday is always so close to Mother’s Day, it’s easiest to do a combo celebration.  I made my mom two Morse Code bracelets as part of her present.  The cobalt blue bracelet has my name and my husband’s name.  The green bracelet has my sister’s name and my niece’s name.  I also made one for my...

Watercolor Class – Week 6

Posted on May 11, 2006

I wasn’t able to attend week 5 of my watercolor class.  I had to work late.  My sister took my niece instead and she got to paint a bit.  For week 6, we did location painting in the park that is next door to the school where I’m taking my class.  I was thrilled to move onto trees.  I’m not a big fan of buildings and probably won’t paint much of them in the future.  I’m way...

Morse Code Painting

This past weekend was a busy one for me.  Yesterday I talked about writing my niece a letter in Morse Code.  Well, I also finished (finally) a painting with Morse Code.  This is the second one I have done.  The first was posted way back here.  I didn’t mention at the time but the lyrics to ‘Dust in the Wind‘ are painted onto those two paintings.  This painting has the lyrics to...

Outdoor School Camp

Outdoor School Camp

Posted on Apr 17, 2006

My niece left for outdoor school camp yesterday.  In Portland, all six graders go to outdoor school for a week.  I still have fond memories of my trip.  My sister asked the family to write my niece letters that she could open when she was at camp.  My sister gave me about 2 hours notice to write my letters. The first letter I did was very straight forward and I enclosed a bunch of stickers that said things like...
