A Meeting of the Guilds

A Meeting of the Guilds

Posted on May 7, 2007

This weekend my husband and I made our traditional visit to the guild show at the Oregon Convention Center.  We’ve been going for years now and we look forward to it every time.  The show consists of the Metal Guild, Pottery Guild, Glass Guild, Fiber Guild, the Bead society and for the first time this year the Woodworker’s Guild.  I always find great ideas at this show.  Since it’s always so close...

Check this out.  This is a embroidered 1 minute long phone conversation.  Louisa Bufardeci came up with this amazing idea.  When I looked at this I instantly thought that it would be super cool to embroider labor contractions.   I think it would be a very cool abstract art project to embroider and frame a few contractions.  You could do it in nursery colors and hang it in your baby’s room. ...

Short Fuses Pendants

Here is my latest batch of glass.  The top ones are ready to have backs glued to them.  My kiln partner and I are trying to have stuff ready to sell by May 1st.  I think this is totally doable, but we still have to work on such things as packaging and pricing.  Hopefully that won’t be too hard to figure out. There were pieces from my glass class that I re-fired.  Still not totally loving them. ...
