Watercolor Class – Week 7

Watercolor Class – Week 7

We did another class in the park.  It’s amazing what a week in Portland can mean.  The week before we were freezing and trying to keep our hands warm.  This week it was in the mid 90′s and we were miserable.  We were lucky to have our class in the park, because our classroom was well over 100 degrees.  I really like my tree on the right.  I like how delicate it looks.  The tree on the...

Finally, Short Fuses lives again…sort of.  This is stuff that I made several months ago, and just got back.  My kiln partner has been busy with her own venture of opening a coffee shop.  So Short Fuses is on the back burner.  Which is totally fine.  Being the natural procrastinator that I am, I’m all for waiting until she gets the coffee shop off the ground.  Plus if I’m nice to her, I...

My husband and I were able to make it to Newport, OR this past weekend.  We had a great time relaxing and being lazy.  I got to take some pictures of the wildlife that we encountered.  These are the best of the lot. I was very happy with this shot.  Sea Lions lounge all around the Newport bayfront sunning themselves.  They are very vocal about their spot on this pier.  Here they are all together.  We...

Watercolor Class – Week 4

This week in my water color class we learned about background washes.  This is all the stuff in the background of a painting that will mostly be covered up when the painting is done.  For example, there will be green grass where the yellow is now.  The yellow just serves to add some depth to the final picture.  All the green will have tree detail put in and the water will be different as well.  Right now it...
