Final Watercolor Class

Final Watercolor Class

Posted on Jul 28, 2006

For our last watercolor class, we painted flowers.  Flowers are much harder than I was expecting.  The instructor gave us tips on how to draw basic flower shapes.  I did learn that I can draw much better looking at a 2-D object than a 3-D object.  She had real flowers to look at as well as a drawing up on the board.  I found that I could understand the drawing on the board better than looking at the real...

What can I say, this painting is all over the place.  My color is just too strong in the sunset.  The water was tricky to do.  We used rubber cement as a resist.  Then we painted over it and used a eraser to pick it back up leaving the white parts.  I liked what I got out of this lesson even if the picture isn’t very good this time.  Next time will be...

Un-felted bag

Un-felted bag

I did it!  I finally finished the bag I started in my class at Lint.  I put the project down for about a month because I have been super busy.  I was worried that I wouldn’t remember how to do the Intarsia, but I picked it back up rather easily.  I think that is credit to my teacher.  So here is the ‘bag’ all done and laid out.  I needed to finish the last group of circles, sew the sides...
