Glass Class

Glass Class

Posted on Feb 22, 2007

I am now taking another glass class.  I’ve been in it a couple of weeks now and these are the first things I have taken home.  I had taken this class because I thought I would have the opportunity to make large plates.  Since the class is so large, the biggest thing we can make are 4"x4" tiles.  So that is what’s above.  The piece on the left I’m very happy with.  This is a new...

Short Fuses Glass

Short Fuses Glass

Last night I got to pick up my latest bunch of fused glass.  I only made 9 pieces, because I was feeling uninspired.  It’s amazing how great pieces look before they are fired and then afterwards sometimes they are a bit disappointing.  I’m chalking it all up to the learning curve. Still there were a couple of very cool pieces in the group. I made these two pieces exactly the same with one exception. ...

Fleece Baby Hat

The last present I made for my friend’s shower was this fleece hat.  I had left over fleece from the blanket.  I used this pattern from Martha Stewart’s web-site to start with.  I chose the hat that has two vertical panels.  I decided to have three panels instead.  I also didn’t like that the hat was squared off at the top.  So I decided to round the edges.  I used a Tupperware lid...

Fleece Baby Blanket

The big gift that I made my friend for her shower was a fleece blanket.  I’ve decided that 2007 will be the year of sewing.  I been wanting to do something different than knitting for awhile. Previous to this, I had not used my sewing machine in over a year.  It was quite dusty and lonely.  I knew that I wanted to do make a blanket, but I had no idea how to start.  I searched the internet and found a...
